WEED ABATEMENT

Abstract:
Field inspection of land parcels is required to ensure codes for weed maintenance are enforced. This helps reduce fire and health hazards. ArcPad was introduced in an effort to automate and standardise information retrieval in the field and allow for easy data download back in the office. Maximizing usability for non-GIS users was a key requirement in the development so Application Builder was used to customize forms. Quantifiable results were quickly achieved with inspection times cut by 50 percent with a full return on investment after just one year.
