Date: March 2002ArcPad is the only mapping software released by a major GIS vendor that allows users an ‘out of the box’ mobile GIS on any Windows environment (95,98,ME,NT,2000,XP,CE). The software supports industry standard GPS formats and allows users to capture coordinates directly from the GPS into attributed point, line or polygon features as well as navigating to locations.
Out of the box capabilities include displaying vector and raster data in full colour, symbolizing, drawing and editing features.
